Class Change

  • Switching Chinese language classes for different grades and/or times are allowed during the first three weeks of each semester pending on class space availability.
  • Students must obtain permission from the Vice Principal for Registration in order to switch between non-Chinese language classes.
  • Students will not be permitted to switch classes after end of the 3rd week of the semester.

Withdraw and Refund

  1. A student can withdraw from the class at anytime during the semester.
  2. For tuition refund, a student must drop the class online before the end of the 3rd week of the semester. A $30 cancellation processing fee will be applied for dropped class. No refund to classes dropped after the end of the 3rd week. The cancellation fee will be waived for any classes cancelled by the school.
  3. Refund checks will be mailed after the 7th week of each semester.

Try Out

  • Free Try-Out is for new students who intend to take Chinese Language class. The new student may sit-in any language classes and tries out free for one week only with the prior permission by the Vice Principal for Registration or other school officers.
  • New prospect students of any culture classes may sit-in the class during the culture class open house session of the last three weeks of each semester.

Mr. Lu Wenhao’s Classes A, B and E:

Group lessons are given during the class, provided with individual instructions.

A.            Current students stay in the same class

Current students have registered online and paid tuition by the early registration deadline to stay in the same class. 

If payment is made after the early registration deadline, the student will be treated as a new student, specified in item D below.

B.            Switch class time:

Students who are in Drawing A or B classes and would like to switch to class time, and have done the following:

1.                  Registered into new class and paid tuition by the early registration deadline.

2.                  Send email to school@greatwall.org to notify the change.

You MAY be transferred, if space is available. Otherwise, you will remain in the current class.

C.            Drawing E class students can switch to other drawing classes except Drawing A or B.  Switch to Drawing A or B is recommended by Mr. Lu.  The school will notify the parents in advance.

D.            Students, who are not in Mr. Lu’s drawing classes, must register in Drawing E class.  You may be accepted IF you register online and pay tuition by the early registration deadline, and IF space is available.

No new students will be allowed to register in Drawing A (12:30pm) or Drawing B (2:30pm) classes.

 

Mr. Li Guofu’s Classes C, D, and F

Mr. Wang Zongzhou’s Classes H and G:

Instructions or lessons are given individually.  There are no group lessons.  Students can register into any classes regardless of their levels.  The registration priority is given in the following order:

A.            Current students stay in the same class

Current students have registered online and paid tuition by the early registration deadline. 

If payment is made after the early registration deadline, the student will be treated as a new student specified in item D below.

B.            Switch class time with the SAME teacher

Students, who are in a 12:30pm or 2:30pm drawing class in the previous semester, would like to switch to another drawing class time with the SAME teacher, and have done the following:

3.                  Register the class you want to attend, and pay tuition by the early registration deadline.

4.                  Send email to school@greatwall.org to notify the change.

You MAY be transferred, if space is available. Otherwise, you will remain in the current class.

C.            Switch class with Different teacher

Students, who are in a drawing class and would like to switch to another drawing class, except Drawing A and B, with different teachers, can register into the classes as a new student specified in Item D below.  You MAY be transferred if you register online and pay tuition by the early registration deadline, and IF space is available

D.            Students, who were not in any drawing classes in previous semester, can register into any classes online, except Drawing A and B, and pay tuition by the early registration deadline. You may be accepted if space is available.

E.            Full tuition will be refunded if space is not available or class is cancelled due to lack of teachers or less than 6 students registered.

 

Dance Class Registration Guideline (maximum 10 students per class)

1.                  Dance classes are offered in intermediate and beginner levels.  Each class is limited to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 students.  The class schedules and requirements are:

Intermediate classes:

Dance Class A (Intermediate) 2:30pm

Dance Class B (Intermediate) 4:30pm

Dance Class C (Intermediate) 4:30pm

Dance Class D (Intermediate) 2:30pm

Intermediate classes are open to current students only.  Students should not switch classes unless recommended by the teachers.

Students who quit dance class for one or more semesters may re-register the intermediate dance classes if space is available and in the order of tuition payment date (first come first serve).

Beginner class:

Dance E (Beginner) 12:30pm; first time dance class students, regardless of ages and lessons taken outside of GWCS, must register into this class first.  Students in this class may be switched to intermediate classes based on teacher’s recommendation and space availability.

2.                  Students are responsible for the cost of costumes for stage performances.

3.                  Students are expected to perform at school organized or participated activities and community services throughout the school year.

SAT Class (maximum 20 students per class)

For the advanced SAT classes, the priority of enrollment follows:

  1. Students who attended the SAT class last semester, and have registered and paid for the same SAT class of this semester before the end of early registration.
  2. Students, who attended the SAT class last semester and have registered and paid for another SAT class for this semester before the end of early registration.
  3. For those on waiting list (including new students and old students who do not complete registration before the end of early registration), the higher priority will be given to the older age among those who complete registration before the end of early registration.

For the beginner SAT class, the priority of enrollment follows:

  1. Students who have registered Chinese language classes, and have registered and paid for the SAT class of this semester before the end of early registration;
  2. Students who do not register Chinese language lessons, and have registered and paid for the class of this semester before the end of early registration;
  3. First come first serve, if space is still available.

Chinese Martial Art Class (maximum 10 students per class)

For the intermediate classes, the priority of enrollment follows:

  1. Students who attended the Martial Art beginner class last semester, and have registered and paid for the Martial Art intermediate class of this semester before the end of early registration.
  2. Students, who attended the Martial Art beginner class last semester and have registered and paid for another Martial Art intermediate class for this semester before the end of early registration.
  3. No new students accepted in the Martial Art intermediate classes.

For the beginner class, the priority of enrollment follows:

  1. Students who have registered Chinese language classes, and have registered and paid for the Martial Art class of this semester before the end of early registration
  2. Students who do not register Chinese language lessons, and have registered and paid for the Martial Art class of this semester before the end of early registration
  3. First come first serve, if space is still available
